A little belatedly so apologies for that, we are writing to thank you for your support last year.
Demand has significantly increased due to the current difficult situations people are facing for one reason or another which means that in the last 12 months (January 2022 to December 2022) the Swindon Food Collective has:
- fed 9,602 people of which 2,279 were young children
- given out 116 kgs of food - 96 tonnes through our distribution centres and over 20 tonnes to other organisations e.g. Growbaby, Harbour Project, Ukrainian Appeal, Swindon Caring Hearts, Community Fridge Gorse Hill etc.
- given Great Western Hospital 188 Home from Hospital bags
- opened 3 more distribution centres, bringing our total to 11 centres
- received 90,282.4 kgs of stock including food, toiletries and household cleaning products
- supported 34 breakfast clubs
- recruited 34 new volunteers; and
- recruited 63 new referring agencies
Please pass our thanks on to your colleagues. Your generosity is much appreciated and will go towards enabling us to meet the ever increasing demand for food for those people who are facing a crisis at this time. Our mission is to reduce the impact of food poverty on people in the Swindon and District areas and our aim is that no-one goes hungry unnecessarily.
