LINK 6 and RWB Good Neighbour Scheme offers ad hoc help and support to people in need, either temporary or longer time, who live in and around Royal Wootton Bassett.
We offer our volunteers a unique opportunity to give their time on their own terms, so if you only want to offer an hour or two now and again, we would still love to hear from you.
Our clients ask us to do all sorts of things, from changing a light bulb, going with them to the hospital, going for a walk, a trip to the hairdressers, collecting a prescription, taking a pet to the vet.
We never know what is going to come up next, but what we do know is that everything we do is valued greatly by those we help.
We do not charge a fee, but invite donations. Volunteers will be paid out of pocket expenses.
To help us to grow this service, we need more volunteers, both to work with our clients, and particularly we need some people who are based from home to act as co-ordinators, taking calls from clients and finding one of our volunteers who can help out.
If you would like to volunteer, or think you might be eligible to use our service, please look on the web http://link6andrwb.btck.co.uk/ or phone 07879 394666.
We look forward to hearing from you.
EXTEND is a keep fit class for those over 60 or less able. We meet in Lyneham Village Hall 10-11 on a Friday morning and St Bart’s Church Hall, Rope Yard, RWB 2-3 on a Friday afternoon. We do gentle exercise to music and have a good laugh as well, but we could do with a few more members in the class. Sessions are only £2.50. To find out more, please contact Allison Bucknell on 01793 854421.
